1. Shakayla Thomas, Sylacauga, 5-11, Undecided
Averaged 31.9 points and 14.5 rebounds a game last season, shooting 52 percent from the field.

2. Alexis Jennings, Sparkman, 6-1, Kentucky
Led the Senators to a 33-1 record with 22.1 points and 9.6 rebounds a game. ASWA 2013 Super 5, three-time all-state.

3. Morgan William, Shades Valley, 5-5, Mississippi State
Two-time ASWA Super 5, Birmingham North/East Player of the Year, averaged 14.1 points, 4.1 assists and 4.8 steals a game.

4. Whytney Singleton, Blount, 5-10, UAB
Helped Blount to Class 6A title game, averaging 14.1 points, seven rebounds, 6.2 assists and five steals a game.


5. Quanetria Bolton, Anniston, 6-0, Undecided
Led Anniston to a 23-5 record, averaging 23 points and 13 rebounds a game along with 112 blocks on the season.

6. Tyler Phelion, Blount, 6-2, Jacksonville State
Transferred to Blunt from Murphy after averaging 15.4 points, 9.5 rebounds and four blocks a game last season.

7. Riley Northway, Brewer, 6-1, Lipscomb
Two-time ASWA Class 5A first team, averaged 19.6 points and 12.1 rebounds a game, shooting 52 percent from field and 88 percent from free throw line.

8. Leah Strain, Woodland, 5-4, Jacksonville State
Ranks among top six in AHSAA scoring history with 3,770 points. Averaged 21.5 points, seven rebounds, 5.16 assists and 4.3 steals a game last season.

9. Destiney Elliott, Oneonta, 5-11, Samford
Class 4A Player of the Year led Redskins to championship with 16.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and three steals a game.

10. Imani Kyser, Madison Academy, 6-1, Jacksonville (Fla.)
Averaged eight points and 7.7 rebounds a game last season.

I think it was the #1 player on the list.
I think I like the new women's coach as well. Seems we are recruiting well there as well.
Coach Norton's made an immediate first impression. The ladies on the team have taken to him & bought into his system of play, which has them playing an exciting, but a bit more under control style of ball. Can't wait until Arizona, George Mason and Vanderbilt come to town, & of course, the most exciting time of the season, conference play!
