Didn't see this mentioned yet, but apparently Chris Speilman's son Noah (DE) has committed to UT. At least one site reporting that it's a grayshirt offer.

I think he was at the Navy game.
Didn't a kid of a former Rocket recently commit to OSU? Sounds familiar to me. Well good. They get one of ours. We get one of theirs.

Congrats to Chris, look forward to seeing him on the field.
I think Brent William's son committed to the OSU Bucket Heads.
For those that didn't catch it last week, the Rockets got a verbal commit from the #62 Safety in the country. Marcus Whitfield is a 3 star recruit from Massillon.
Hope Speilman sticks, if he's any good. Won't hold my breath, though.
Noah is an undersized defensive tackle. Not the most talent on an average Upper Arlington team.

If he is on a team that is struggling to put its best possible team together, is he playing out of position? Is there a possible shift to say LB were he would no longer be undersized and could excel? Is he being recruited as a DL? Does he have the speed to play elsewhere? Sometimes players are put in positions that don't maximize their talent for the good of the team.
he's 6,0" about 250 and to slow to play linebacker. his teammate is Chris Fry who is commited to Michigan State, he's 6'0" 206 and runs a 4.7 forty. Big difference between the two as far as athletic ability though. All though Noah is a "Speilman". Uncle Rick wasn't a great player himself. Maybe Chris got the recessive genes in the family.
It will depend on whether he has the same drive as his dad. I still remember the first game he played in at OSU. It was against LSU and the running back that was racking up all the yards got hit by Speilman - and all his bravado went out the door. He wasn't prancing around after every carry after that. Speilman is a great man of great character.
