Former College Head Basketball Coach and now popular and respected ESPN College Basketball Analyst Fran Fraschillia made the following comments on Twitter after watching the Rocket's practice yesterday:

"The MAC has always been a very balanced league over 30 years but I was very impressed with Toledo today. Talent, experience and depth."

"Watched Toledo's 6-9 soph. Nathan Boothe work out this morning and was really impressed. Excellent strength, agility and touch!"
Nice.
This is the seaon we've all been sitting on the edge of our seats since coach K got here. We're athletic, tall, experienced in key positions and we have a good group of athletes who will only get better if they stick around. We have a good mix of veterans and players who can define the future of this program for many years.

Let's all hope the Greece trip helped with the gel-ing portion of making this team, a team. It shouldn't be too bad since half the team practiced last year, but couldn't play. I know we're picked to finish pretty high in the MAC, but I think we'll still suprise some teams how far we've come since last year. Now we can rotate Booth with Garber, 3 or 4 exciting guard combinations with a senior PG. Smith and Weatherspoon will be nice rotation and then add in Williams for a few minutes. This will be fun to watch.
No more waiting 'til next year.

Seems like he's been here forever, doesn't it? Hope he plays like a senior!
Attended the MBB Social on Thurs. Fran F gave one of the more enlighted presentation that I think I have heard from a speaker. He talked at length about his years on the Ohio U staff of Danny Nee. He said how the mantra for them was to "Be like Toledo". Those obviously were our great years of the late 70's and early 80's so he was able to mention a ton of players and of course Bob Nichols. He gave a very pointed talk aimed at the team and referencing the "150 days until selection Sunday". Very enjoyable and certainly more than just the usual that you get from a "name" speaker. Good decision by TK to bring him in. Hope he fired up the team for a great run for the MCC title. Go Rockets!
