No one thinks it will be smooth sailing after this change. How much will you be able to change at this point in the season? It is a positive step, though. It shows McGee can remove his personal bias and that he recognizes the seriousness of the situation and isn't just going to wait and see how things play out over a year or two before making a change.

Turner Gill fired Williams as DC while at Buffalo........it will probably be more of the same, we'll see.

Unless there is some spectacular improvement on defense under Williams, I doubt he will remain the DC. This is just a bandaid until we can get to the end of the season and hire someone new as DC.

The next dc at UAB need to be a guy with experience as HC
That way , he can help McGee who is over his head as head coach and learning by his mistakes ,,,,,,and he learning a lot every weeks

It would be interesting to know if McGee made this move on his own, or if he had a looooong meeting with Mackin somewhere in the past 24 hours.

At halftime, McGee let it be known that he wasn't happy with the way the defense was going.
