Incredible event. Haven't seen this much buzz about UAB basketball since coming off the Sweet 16 in 2004.

I know the dunks actually counted more than anything, but Swing should have gotten a boost simply for wearing the Flint Tropics get-up.

It's a combination of the sucktitude of both sports since the "banner year" of 2004, really. If we would have been coming off of the Hawaii Bowl and Sweet Sixteen last year, there's no doubt we would be in the AAACKKK.

UAB Basketball hasn't sucked nowhere close to level of suckage the football program has reached. And forget the AAC, the basketball program could have been in the A10 or the new BE basketball conference by now if it weren't for football.

Folks at work were still talking about Hoops on the Haasephalt today... definitely made a positive impression. I hope the actual game experience will live up to the preseason hype.
