Support can include critism. I'm pretty sure that McGee criticizes every little thing his players do or don't do. I guess that means he doesn't support his own players. Shame. Like "most UAB fans"(as some have said), Most coaches must suck too.
He's being paid to instruct and be critical of them when they make mistakes. You are not. The coin toss decision was probably to challenge them. He wouldn't do that against another opponent. If it had cost us the game, it would be a different story.
The things said in the the game thread have gone beyond criticism over the past two or three games. There were 4 pages devoted to complaining about the coach with almost no discussion about the game itself. In the past two weeks it's gotten bad enough that it's even including complaining about facial hair. How is that support?
You have to admit, regardless of coaching ability, that's a pretty ridiculous mustache...
The complaining about every little detail gets old. We can have 4 pages of whining over a bad decision or play, but almost nothing said when there is an awesome call or executed play, TD, etc. We act like a bunch of spoiled bammers at times.
Some don't get that. They think the coaches and players spend all their free time in here caring what we say.

I don't know how people don't expect fans to be critical at this point. We lost to Troy, again. Our coach has 4 career wins, and 2 of them are against FCS schools. Schools like UTSA look better than us, and they are new to FBS. I understand UAB has a lot of things working against it, but we should be able to have a winning season every once in a while.

We haven't lost to UTSA yet, and can still have a winning season. UTSA draws huge crowds, and has a coach that won a National Title at Miami. The Troy game was a huge disappointment though.

No, because we didn't look good in doing it. If we won against Troy like this, that would be fine. But winning against an FCS team in this manner is a reason to be concerned.

We don't win that much very often. Good God, there are fans complaining after a winless team got their first win because we might have insulted the other team.
How ridiculous is that.
I have to agree with Memphis Blazer. I said before the game that it didn't matter what the score was because people would be upset either way. What goes overlooked is we played a bunch of people yesterday. Guys that have never taken a snap for us and even some walk-ons. We also had a drive ended on a bullspit no call on a PI and one of their TD drives aided by penalty. We also elected to give them one extra possession and they scored on it. It is what it is. People are making WAY too much of this game. It is like the LSU game. A glorified scrimmage. I'm happy with the win and ready to move on to Vandy. I swear if we won the National Championship in anything people would still complain. Enjoy the win. Lord knows we have not had too many to enjoy in the last 8 years.
BTW the ones that went to Auburn instead of our game I'm glad they had their ass kicked. Screw them and UAT. Both are handing out cash like Chiclets and I hope they both go down.
I would most definitely not complain if we won a national championship in a sport. I wouldn't complain if we won this game the way we beat the FCS opponent last season. I am going to complain when our defense gives up 28 points to a mediocre FCS team. I'm a fan, I care about the program, and I have a right to voice my concerns. We did not look good. If our defense does not improve markedly in the next two weeks, we may not win another game this season. The offense has looked fairly decent for most of the season, but that isn't going to mean a damn thing if we can't stop any opponent.
Remember, a few weeks ago, MB was talking **** about a soccer ranking not meaning anything because it was not a recognized source. No matter what the topic, he's just going to go the opposite way of the masses, it's his style.
Well that may be true about him but I still agree with the point he made. It is a glorified scrimmage. The score means nothing except we won. Enjoy the win and stop reading too much into a scrimmage.
If it's a scrimmage then why the hell should I even care if we won?
Based off of what I've seen in 3 games(this is not all about yesterday), I am very concerned about conference play.

We will get some conference wins. FIU is terrible, FAU is fairly mediocre.....MTSU must be too, as FAU took them to OT. Marshall and ECU are the only 2 I've watched play this year that will be hard to beat.......we have a decent chance with all of our other CUSA games.
We're so used to bitching after a game we forgot what to do when we win.
