Time to dig out the rain gear...
It ain't easy bleedin' green.
where's the dome Birmingham promised us?
Sweet...glad I'm coming from 900 miles away to watch
With UAB's luck when it rains it pours. This is going to suck. I sure hope it doesn't hit until after halftime.

#Snakebit
I'm going, anyway, rain or shine, bad weather will not be my excuse for not attending games, it's football, dammit. I will act accordingly in the presence of possible thunder & lightning, however.

Where is the promised replacement facility the RAPS forces promised when they got the rural / suburban voters to vote down the MPF? B'ham has repeatedly tried to get the MPF back on track, but the rural / suburban forces and the state leadership have not budged in their opposition or benign neglect.

Where are all the people who proposed MAPS? Dead, in jail, just out of jail, or parking cars in Tuscaloosa.

RAPS got what they wanted and disappeared into the night like the political hyenas they are/were.
Was it mentioned that a majority of people voted no on it?

What prevented the same MAPS group from restructuring the plan to only include the stadium instead of all the "fluff stuff" included with it?
Football is supposed to be played in the weather. Domes are for wimps.

Was it mentioned that a majority of the residents of the City of Birmingham voted yes?

Was it also mentioned that Oklahoma City also voted on a MAPS plan presented by the same organization and very similar in scope to the local one and passed it? Look at where Oklahoma City is today compared to Birmingham because they had the foresight to invest in the future.
How many times can one person derail so many threads with political views that have nothing to do with the subject at hand?
Back on topic, attendance figures to be horrendous unfortunately. The way our home schedule shakes out, this may be one of the lower average attendances in our FBS history. The only thing that will save that is winning the first 3 conference games (and this one, of course).

As for all of us, if you were an attendee for the Monsoon Game, you have no excuses. I'll get my green ponchos handy.

>>> It was a county vote, not city vote, therefore it isn't relevant.

If you are sitting in a thunderstorm on Saturday, you may not still think an MPF to be so much a "derailment". If you are, you may look around you and see large open spaces where fans might have been seen if the weather had been more cooperative. And in the late season games, we may encounter cold as well as wet to help with our attendance counts.

That "monsoon game" turned out to be a "stag party" since most mothers refused to allow dad to take the kids out on a school night, or the Saturday night before church, in such weather. When mom keeps the kids home, more than a few dads decide to stay home too.

Beating Vandy wouldn't hurt. Of course, this one is the next one.
