I want a coach who keeps his foot on the gas. We're not good enough to win playing conservatively.

I want a coach that coaches sensibly and doesn't continually give the opponent a short field. Sometimes it is better to punt and play defense.
We aren't good enough to risk it to get the biscuit.
We're not good enough to risk it and we're not good enough to play conservatively... Pick one.

I'll say this: If there is a snowball's chance in hell of beating LSU, we're gonna need a few miracle plays. Maybe against F_U we can play conservatively, but even if LSU has a bad day, they're still gonna out gun us. We're gonna have to empty out our clip, and then turn the empty clips into Molotov cocktails.

So punting on 4th and 1 from the 50 won't cut it.
I don't expect to run the ball on LSU or throw deep on LSU. My suggestion is five yard cutback routes. Short passes will help a lot. Just got to get rid of the ball early and accurately. Maybe the run game will open up if they have to spread the back seven across the field.

When you have a defense and not a bunch of matadors.

We need to try to run the ball to keep them honest .We also need to try some long pass because WITHOUT it .LSA will pack in and all our receivers will get kill on short route especially in the middle .
The good thing about long pass is ,..a one play td , a interception who can be a long pass , a pass incomplete , or roughing the passer :)

I expected a close game

+2, you never know what will happen in those extra yards - they may still score or we may get a turnover or force them to punt & we get better field position out of it ????
Well, I'd rather Stache be too aggressive and go for it on 4th down with no defense than what Neil pulled against MSU--sending Zahn out to attempt a FG on 4th and goal from the 1!
That's that particular case. 3 PTA would've made a difference last week. I know what you're saying but there's a time to hold em and a time to fold em. That's what makes good coaches.
I want an aggressive coach. I didn't say I wanted a foolishly aggressive coach.

He does punt sometimes.
I have seen him go for onsides kicks that were things of beauty though.
We're pretty awesome at onsides kicks, and I'm totally fine with doing it once a game. I don't see was all the fuss is about. If you're not good enough to play defense to overcome one unrecovered onsides kick, you might not deserve to win that game anyway.
Thing is, when you go on 4th down on, say, your own 40 and make it, you've still got to go about another 35-40 yards just to get into decent field goal range.

We're 0-1 this season on onside kicks.

Every year is a new team and new season.
So you're saying we aren't awesome at onside kicks?
Or just not this year? So far this year? Or What?

At the moment I'd have to agree with any of those.
We also suck at field goals and scoring more points than the other team.
