Good luck! The Trojan defense looks to be a shadow of its former size...just like their defensive coordinator! Rimshot
Lol Austin and J.P. will light them up if they stack against the run.
Knowing what's coming and being able to stop it are two different things.
We sure are doing a lot of talking for a three win team. I hope our three win team backs it up.

We're playing a 5 win team with a new defensive coordinator, and that new defensive coordinator is Wayne Bolt.

Granted, that doesn't make me as confident as I might be if say, it were Eric Schumann, but there it is.
It's also a team that has beaten us 3 of the last 4 games with our one win being on a miracle last play.
New year, more experienced team and more experienced coaches.... I like our chances!

What game was it last year where you were yelling "hey coach, #5 is getting the ball" & one of their fans agreed, yet they still didn't stop it 03-lmfao

Marshall.

You're right. Let's just cancel the season now. I mean, because games played previous years have some bearing on this year.
Why all of the negativity? Last year was a transition year, which are usually tough. We've upgraded our coaching staff and roster. I feel good about this team until proven wrong!

That's exactly what we've done and exactly how we feel. Best of luck after game one.

We aren't a 3 win team. We are 0-0, just like everyone else right now. It's a new season.

I haven't said that we don't have a chance. Im just commenting on these guys who seem to think our winning blowout is a foregone conclusion and Troy shouldn't bother showing up.

And as I understand it, there are some players who played on previous teams, so their talent may have some bearing on this years results.

I hope we win and will be rooting for them, but laughing off The opponents belief that they will win is misplaced arrogance.

Yeah, that's true. We have plenty of guys who were Top 20 in the nation out of high school. But talent is not experience. That's where I'm worried. The guys on our roster you are talking about are:

Erique Florence (So.) - Transfer From Auburn - ESPNs #4 Safety.
Sam Lebbie (PrFr.) - Signed with WVU - 247s #5 ILB.
Lonnie Gosha (So.) - Played For Arkansas - ESPNs #12 DE.
Antonio Gillespie (Sr.) - JUCO Tansfer - Second time at Troy - ESPNs #13 DT.
Keon Payne (Jr.) - Sign with Miami, JUCO transfer to Troy - ESPNs #19 CB.
Zach Miller (Sr.) - JUCO All American CB
Mark Wilson (Jr.) - JUCO, offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss - LB.

Unfortunately for Troy, you'll only get to play four of the seven. Florence has to sit a year after transferring from AU. Lebbie (backup at MLB) is out with injury for a game or two, and Miller (starter at corner) is academically ineligible this year. Next year looks fun though.

I bet there's a Troy board out there somewhere where they're yukking it up at our optimism. That's what fans do.
@TroyFootball05,
That is a pretty impressive list of players.........did not realize there was that much talent down there! Even the ones that are eligible this year help bring the practices to a higher level.
I thought Blakeney got away from signing the massive # of JUCO's as he's done in the past. Impressive on paper
I don't think they can stop us from running, and I don't fear their run game much from what I'm reading.

We'll see. That's why they play the games...
