Im sorry to hear that Coles isnt going to be available for awhile (weeks to months?). That means that in addition to the experienced and dependable Greg Franklin, we are going to need one or more new guys to step up to carry the ball some. Im not sure why we have a recruit from JC who isnt eligible at the start of season,,, that is discouraging from an evaluation standpoint by our recruiting team.

thats a little judgmental (unless you know more details--which i don't).

the ncaa clearinghouse is a funny bunch. sometimes things get hung up for no great reason. its sort of like blaming a person for getting his taxes all hung up by the IRS (again, there may be specific things here on which the staff dropped the ball...i have no idea...im just saying, thats not always the case)
The NCAA Clearing House works at its own pace and doesn't care that we (UAB fans & coaches) are anxious to get the matter settled. It was well into the August after he graduated before they disallowed a Math 11 course Quinton Reese had taken in his junior year so he didn't get to Auburn until the next year.
New JC RB, too?

Yes, & he will be eligible immediately.
5'9" and 175 lbs. Good thing he's fast.

How many years of eligibility does he have. If he hasn't played FB since high school one would think four years. However, I seem to recall some NCAA rule about having to start playing within a certain period of time after high school graduation to play the full four. Anyone know?

I would also imagine that getting reacclamated to contact may take a while.
The article says he played at Lawson State. I'm sure the Troy defense is going to hit a bit harder than the teams he has played against the last couple of years. He graduated in 2011, so I would guess 2 years of eligibility left.
If they have the same D Bolt had here, they won't hit all that hard.

I think we're going to dominate the line of scrimmage and pound the rock in Pike County.

Lawson does not have a football team...

Gotcha. I went back and actually read the article. He has been training but hasn't actually played.

there's no chance that size can play in college

Looks like a shifty runner with deceptive speed. Looks like he could compete for time on special teams returning the ball.
A quick little jitterbug in the 4th quarter, when the D is dead-legged from getting run over by the D-train for the first three could be pretty handy.
This thread just took a disturbing turn.
(Ok, I removed it)
Haha! Okay.
Wham!
