They really are becoming one of the better SEC teams

That was nine years ago. Every player is long gone. Two football coaches ago, three ADs and two presidents. Never mind that no charges were ever filed against anybody.

When is the statute of limitations up?

I thought the same thing. That's the skeleton in the closet that doesn't allow for stone throwing.

+1 doesn't matter when it happened or if any charges were filed

Or if it happened... No wait.
James Franklin is out at Vandy after this year. I just don't see how Vandy can keep him from other schools trying to get him. He was very close to going to Cal this year.
Going back to Cali.

The James Franklin to USC rumor and buzz has been out there for a few months. They even mentioned it on College Football Live this past week.

I doubt Franklin goes anywhere unless what he built comes crashing down due to a scandal. Vanderbilt is ponying up to keep him each time a run is made at him, and I think Franklin is thinking making Vanderbilt the Stanford of the SEC. That being said and back on topic. They have not identified the four players yet that have been suspended. The local sports radio tried to get more information from the Metro Police and they pretty much just confirmed the press release were related to the sex crime allegations.

I will say this from my time at Vanderbilt as a graduate student.... Vanderbilt takes crime seriously on campus and those four players are gone if they are found guilty.
Ok, I'll go ahead and say what a lot of us are probably thinking... I hope it gets a couple of starters.

Yeah, it's crass, but we need some games in the W column and I'll take it if it happens.
"Four Commodores players suspended on Friday have been dismissed by Vanderbilt and removed from campus, the university announced in a statement released Saturday, according to the Associated Press."

I heard on the radio that a local news channel said something along the lines to indicate that the four players are not that popular. Not sure if that means much. I think we can beat Vanderbilt with all of their starters. Vanderbilt lost their quarterback, star running back, and a number of other contributors to graduation. I like our chances and I will be the most obnoxious UAB fan in the crowd (after attending Graduate school at Vanderbilt).
