I enjoyed it. Thought Kevin did a very nice job with the interview.
Thank you! Great interview! Mackin impressed me.
Adam Stocks put it up for us.
I thought Tyler asked the best question regarding Birmingham businesses supporting UAB football and an OCS.

Adam also does Play by play for the Pell City Football team.. Great person and does an excellent job calling the games...
If we don't renew the Troy series I would live to see it replaced by Memphis and keep the battle for the bones going. Anything to get us out if that basketball home and home with them which is tied with football. They should be two for one like we did JSU.
Troy fans think the South series will be better than the UAB series. I say let them go for it.
I agree.

Memphis has a pretty impressive schedule already line up thru something like 2017.
I can see why Troy would want out of the basketball series. They never win. I don't understand them wanting out of the football series. Aren't they going to have to play USA in conference play anyway?

"Tyler asked the best question": Because that's what I do!!
Just kidding but I do think that aspect is overlooked. Non-UAB people beat to death the fact that are attendance figures need to be better (Thanks, we know) but its very important for the local business community to be behind an athletic program. Although I'm not currently working with the athletic department like I have over the last two years when I was helping BlazerTV, I did gain many acquaintances within the department and business community in Birmingham. The simple fact is they (Major local businesses) want UAB football and athletics in general to be successful. They stand to gain from the local team performing well. That is a huge feather in our cap that the general public needs to be more aware of.
Agree STC.
MB the only reason I mentioned Memphis is that Mackin said that he was in talks with them and also said the Troy series may not be renewed. We all know schedules can change. It may be we sign a four year with ECU. Maybe he is talking about after 2017? He is the one that brought it up. Heck we may never play them again. He specifically mentioned games with AAC schools as well.

Are we really that full of ourselves? Troy is not beneath us. We've got a great thing going. Don't insult them with a two-for-one. In fact, I had no idea that was what we did with JSU.

Speaking of JSU, why are we importing SELA and Northwestern State in football? I'm sure JSU is cheaper.

"Being in talks" with someone is a very vague statement.

It might mean
"We would like to play Memphis again"
"OK, we'll get back to you on that."
By the way, here is Memphis's future schedule in football

http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/conf-usa...tigers.php

And here is UAB's

Either we are shutting things down in 2015, or someone is behind in getting their scheduling done. Why are we so far behind in scheduling?

memphis is scheduling 3 body bag games for 2015,16, and 17 and I'm pretty sure MTSU will beat them in 2014 guaranteeing them 3 ooc losses

I doubt this website has complete up to date info for all 120+ FBS teams. I wouldn't worry too much

we need troy more than they need us right now. we need to put as many people in the stands as possible and troy brings more than most. we need to try and schedule Alabama A&M, Alabama State, and Jacksonville State as our yearly FCS game. they will all bring fans and good bands.
I was referring to BASKETBALL not football for a two for one. To answer your question in football no basketball yes. You really think Troy is our equal in basketball?

We did have some football games past 2015 and we had three schools want out of the games. No we are not shutting it down past 2015.

Btw those clambering to play JSU in football be happy we didn't play them the last three years because they would have most likely beat us. Yes I go to JSU games when I can and they have been very good stocked with DI cast offs.

Byw we signed Alabama A&M as our next FCS opponent. Reason why we ended up with SELA was because we had a game canceled and had to scramble at the last minute finding an opponent. We tried to get Alabama State and the dates would not work out. Don't believe me ask Mackin in an email.

The JSU basketball series was really four games. One buy game then a two for one. James Green told me if we blew them out of the last game he didn't want to play again. We blew them out.

Jeez

You were referring to football in the thread I responded too as seen above. Somewhere along the line you switched to basketball and I was still talking football.

Settle down and don't take our Savior's name in vain.
