Good luck, Coach.
Lou is a great guy, who will be missed.

Good luck in Ttown Coach.
All the best to Lou. He's a great guy and a good coach who does solid work. I hope things work out very well for him.

And F bammer, they need to find their own damn talent and not raid us of our best people. Whole damn SEC to raid and they gotta steal from us.
Maybe it is an indication that their program is in a state of flux.
No. Transfers are not allowed to other CUSA schools or schools within the Univ of Alabama system.

...sound familiar?

that's a unidirectional rule & isn't in our way
Does Haase select his replacement? Or does Mackin?

I hope Haase gets to select his guy.

Yes, it is only verboten west to east. East to west (Michal Riley and Taylor Britt) is OK.
Damn it.

Lou is an amazing guy and he may be one of the best employees UAB Athletics has had in a long time in terms of pure value. No doubt he was probably underpaid here, but such is our situation.

Still...I can't believe he'd take the Alabama job considering there's a very high possibility Grant could be canned and he could go with him.

I still remember the excitement when I saw Lou outside of a meeting with Coach Haase and I asked, "Are you staying?" and with a smile and fist in the air he ecstatically said "Yes!"
He liked his job here and he was damn good at it.

You can say a lot about the Mike Davis years in terms of quality of coaching or play...but player transformations were a major plus during that period thanks to Lou.
We've now lost two valuable staff members to them.

First Aaron Jordan and now Deneen.

It's good for the individuals in that they can now be compensated more in correlation with their talents, but I hate it for UAB.

I'm sure Haase has an up and comer in mind.
Seems shady
we should sell uab as a proving ground and training facility for uat coaches to the bot. all we need are the proper facilities to train the future uat coaches. you know an indoor football practice field and an on campus stadium to attract the very best replacement for saban when he retires. we will also need to triple our recruiting budget to better prepare all the future uat coaches to make sure they have well established relationships with all of the highschool coaches in the southeast. of course uat only deserves the best so we sill need to triple the salaries of all the coaches to attract the very best into the bama training program.
grant will be fire next year anyway
This just isn't right, but best of luck to him. Job well done at UAB.
Lou was phenomenal... And, he was a huge UAB sports fan. I sat near him and his wife several times at football games. He will be missed!
Wish Lou the best of luck! Money is hard to turn down. Its obvious this move has nothing to do with which program will have more success in the upcoming years. Hope Lou eventually makes it to a big time program.
