"Final Thoughts

UAB has played at Legion Field for two decades, but it hasn't really found it to be a home. UAB supporters have started a move called "Free UAB", which calls for the Blazers to leave Legion Field and begin playing at an on-campus stadium that seats about 30,000, which would be a perfect size for UAB football.

"Free UAB" has gained momentum and even got national attention when ESPN's College GameDay visited Auburn in November for the Iron Bowl. It seems inevitable that UAB will get their own stadium. Until then, they'll be stuck at Legion Field: a legendary stadium with an identity crisis."
"It seems inevitable (?) that UAB will get their own stadium" -- as soon as the System BOT agrees to let it.

An OCS of 30,000 seats is "perfect size" for UAB football? For how long once we begin winning consistently?

LOL It FNwas

I cant really argue with where we are picked. Even if we drew 40K it's still not a home field advantage. LF will have to do for now. Time to get our attendance a consistent 22-25K a game. That's the next step.
There is a winning factor to home field advantage as well.

I agree but these must be paid attendance - not the just give aways if we want to make the BP for the OCS

Yes. Let's cross that bridge when we get there. And then we can expand it later. I'd rather have an in-demand ticket than empty seats. We haven't averaged 30,000 seats in the history of the program. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
The OCS is / will be designed to be easily expandable.
Who besides me clicked that link and scrolled straight to the bottom?
I did worse, I didn't click the link because I knew we were at the bottom.

That's a bit of an exaggeration. It was a sign in the crowd that most people that wouldn't have noticed that weren't looking for it or knew who UAB was.

The airplane had better impact, but wasn't on TV.
I clicked it to see if anyone was ranked below us. Poor EMU. I noticed the proximity to the Big House when I was in Ann Arbor. There is no way they'll ever get any traction.

That ought to boost our home field advantage! 03-wink
Damn. Posting on I phone. Lol
Simply put, you have to have a home to have a home field advantage.
