Sophomore Miranda Burroughs was a starter on both the Blue Angels Soccer and basketball programs this year. This season she was named an All-American in both sports. In soccer she was named to the All-Region 24 Team and also named Region 24 Player of the Year. She finished the soccer season ranked 22nd in the nation in goals; 28th in assists; and 19th in points. She holds every offensive record in KC’s soccer history. In her two soccer seasons at KC, she scored 46 goals and had 22 assists. Miranda was also a two-year starter for the basketball team. She received multiple awards this season including All-Conference and All-Region 1st Team. Her plans after graduation are still not decided but she is being recruited by several colleges.
Miranda is also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Phi Theta Kappa.

According to KC soccer coach Joe Basch, “Miranda is a pleasure to coach and be around. She has a positive outlook on everything, is extremely hard working on and off the field and court, and is always eager to help her teammates, professors and classmates."

Also notice that she is from Missouri.

Got in on her twitter feed earlier not long after she committed. She seems VERY excited to be at UAB. Just reading some of the congratulatory notes from her followers, she seems like the kind of player you want at your school.

Was Bruce Baker from Popular Bluff or were you talking about just the women's team?

Ok. It wasn't Bruce Baker, but there was another former UAB men's player from there.

Yes. Greg Leet was from Flat River Mo., 90 miles North of Poplar Bluff. Lex Drum transferred in from Missouri after his Freshman year and is from Poplar Bluff Mo. Home of about half of my Dad's side of the family.

Is there any official info on the 3 players XWBBHC A. Smith signed just before moving on to Clemson?

One was a center-sized player we really needed last season. Are any of the three coming to UAB?
