After seeing the QB battle at the spring game. I must say, JP looked much better than I recall in his recent years. On top of that I thought he ran the offense much better than brown. I really hope JP gets the nod he is a really great kid that deserves it.
JP's footwork has increased greatly in this system. There is no doubt he is the better QB.
JP all the way.
Briscoe was surprising, and not in a good way.

Well said. But will McGee continue to play Brown?
Probably. He's good enough.
McGee played him when he could barely walk last year, so I think he's made his decision.
McGee better handle this before it turns into a Tyler Watts/Andrew Zow type situation.

Is that the only QB battle in your memory ? 03-lmfao 03-lmfao
who is Andrew Watts and Tyler Zow?
I am not sure what the deal is with JP and McGee. I really like JP but there's def something him and McGee don't see eye to eye on.

Zow is a PE teacher & head football coach at Montevallo High School and Watts is a Nationwide Insurance agent... don't know why they would have a feud.
Well I believe Coach"s problem with JP were discuss ed as improvements in several earlier posts.
Vision, footwork and tean managment.

Did Bamanblazerfan change screen names?
JP
Andrew Zow used to play QB for the Birmingham Steeldogs, but I don't think Tyler even made the team.

As far as McGee avoiding a situation, that ship has sailed, but both guys are good enough to start so idda be aight. Especially if Austin is better this year.
The most popular player on any bad team is the backup QB.

Not exactly germaine, but thought it beared pointing out.

JP looked great yesterday, and significantly better (in my eyes, at least) than anyone else. But it was one scrimmage.

Does anyone really believe Briscoe is as bad as he looked yesterday?
Nope
Brown has looked much better in the practices I have seen than he did yesterday. I only saw five practices, but yesterday was the best I have seen JP look this spring. Personally, I think it's a helluva good problem to have, a QB that put up numbers as well as AB as a freshman and an experienced senior former starter playing well.

Teams playing us will have to look at what both guys do unless we go with one and don't switch. I'd love to see both used, doing what they do best, and confusion to our enemies.

Briscoe is better than he showed yesterday. Hell, so is Mike Miller. QB does not worry me much, not unless we manage to manufacture a QB controversy.
UAB lacks one thing to have a good bonifide QB controversy.

Media interest to create and fuel a controversy.
