Crap. I thought this would be something that would include the word Griffin with it.
So between the lines, this is a team rules/ academics situation? "Won't be back" from the other article makes it sound like the former, since academics are fixable the next semester.
Probably a failure to communicate.
If he was gonna screw up, I guess I'd rather he go ahead and get it over with so we have time to adjust. Also, if it had any eligibility implications, it's good that it got itself out of the way in the offseason.
