Florida Gulf Coast, who the UT men's basketball team played this season, is going to the Sweet 16. Toledo was leading by 10 at halftime, but ended up losing 72-66. At the time, it appeared to be a bad loss. It doesn't look so bad now!
That team is like watching video game basketball. Unreal passing, shooting and dunks. Not to mention fast hands on d. And they play loose.

First ever 15 seed to make the sweet 16.
We've played them the past 2 seasons - both @ FGCU. hopefully we'll have them at Savage next year.
They also knocked off a very good Miami Hurricanes men's bb team.
I swear we played them at Savage in maybe their first D1 year. I can still picture one guy who looked about forty with a full beard and monster build.

Yep, we beat them at Savage in 2010. We won what...four games that year?
Nothing wrong with a road trip to Florida for the kids. These are good games to have on the schedule
I happened to catch the second half of the FGCU - Georgetown game, and for the first 15-16 minutes it really looked like Georgetown was the 15 seed. FGCU was just dominating them, getting a number of dunks in their set offense and dominating them physically. If not for a few really bad mistakes against the press and Georgetown going crazy from behind the arc, it would have been a 20 point or more blowout.

Hard to believe that team lost to 12-18 Lipscomb ... twice.

Just goes to show, that there are good teams in all conferences, and that they can win big on a given night. That's why more mid-majors deserve their chance to prove that in the tourney. It's also why the committees work so hard to keep them out.
I had FGCU going to the Sweet 16 until I changed my entire bracket. Picked VCU in final 4 and Gonzaga to win everything. That was stupid...

Oh yeah? I had Gonzaga and Georgetown in the final four with Gonzaga taking it all...

stupid, stupid, stupid
Just read an article where their AD talked about how hard fund-raising is. Not a lot of deep pocket alums since "our oldest alumni is 37. Crazy.
