Nice going, and best of luck tomorrow. Let's find a way for there to be AT LEAST one more Memphis-UAB matchup.

Even though it seems to always go our way, it's always a rivalry type game.

We'll hold up our end of the bargain. Let's meet one more time!

What is the key to a win tomorrow over Southern Miss? Hitting three point shots? Rebounding at least even with them? What do you have to do to pull this one out?

Good luck, best wishes, and Go Tigers!
thank you
maybe memphis will let us win :)
Mostly we need to limit turnovers and play solid defense. I think we do that and we'll be able to generate enough offense and rebounds. Our biggest problem with USM this year has been turnovers. Hopefully we've got a strategy to deal with that.

Rucker and Alihodzic need to combine for at least 25 points. Rucker, Alihodzic, and Williams need to combine for at least 20 rebounds. And we need to make at least 7 3 pointers.

Then we will win.

USM's press gives us a bit of problems on the inbounds. If we had our inbound's turnovers back from the bartow game we probably would have won it.
hopefully not a miracle....LOL

Those turnovers were mainly due to careless play by certain of our guys tossing in the ball after made USM baskets, and weak , rather than brisk, passes. Drove me crazy when we played them in Hburg and continued when we played them at The Bart. Take those silly TO's away and we would have won the last game against em. I hope that Coach gets their attention and makes it a MAJOR point of emphasis for that game. Anything less will be a failure on his part in game preparation in my opinion.
I think it's key that we find a way to score more points than we let them score (somebody had to be the first to say it)
At The Bart, Neil Watson hit every shot he put up. He is 46% from downtown. Dwayne Davis is 43% from downtown. Jerrold Brooks takes the most 3-pointers, makes 35% of them. UAB can't let one of those three guys make a bunch of 3-pointers.

Have to keep those three guys off the foul line as well. They are 76%-80% from charity stripe.

Boardingham and Mills are excellent on the offensive boards. Both guys also get a lot of free throw attempts, but they are in the 63-65% range on making them.

This will be a huge challenge for UAB.

Yeah... pretty much our tactics involve trying to win the boards at the cost of defending the 3. It's pretty much all we can do since we're not deep enough.

I don't envy haase. There just aren't too many options.

We'll see if he's got some cards up his sleeve though.
Southern Miss did lose Michael Craig to a season-ending ankle injury. The 6-5, 230 forward scored 16 points at The Bart. For the season, he was 80% from the foul line, and was 60% from 2-point land. He was a significant part of their team.
We struggle against teams that hit the 3's when we leave them open in our zone. We either need to play man or hope the are colds
For us to have a good game tomorrow, Fahro is going to have to player than he did today. 0-2 and three rebounds don't cut it. He was 4-4 from the line though.
I don't know what the line is, but KenPom has Southern Miss winning 73-65.
I'm pretty certain UAB will play better today than yesterday. Really think we've got a good chance of beating USM today.

Opened as 6 point dogs...last I looked it was 5.5

(Now swung the other way to +6.5 or 7)
UAB can win today - and tomorrow - IF we can avoid the "5 minute swoon" in scoring that has marked our games at the end of the season. I am concerned that giving USM such a break will result in them winning. Playing well the whole game is the key to victory.
& scoring more points than the opposing team.

10 assist to 17 turnovers is really where we struggled. Hell alot of areas of concern with our team. We will know in a few hours. Go Blazers!
What is really bad is we had 8 assists on 9 FG'S at halftime, which means we had only two assists in the second half.
