...your guys played their hearts out, nothing to be ashamed of. Good luck in the tournament!

Hope this series continues, I believe most Tiger fans feel the same way..

....I guess the NIT is out, though maybe if you get to the conference finals there is a small shot.

I think some of the other tournaments you have to pay to play. If invited, will the school spend the money to get you guys into one of the other two tournaments?

Again, good effort today. We aren't 16-0 in conference for nothing, just simply too deep.

Best,

ADallasTiger
Thanks for the kind words.

I'm proud of this team. It's a young, thin team with a new coach. They're a better team in March than they were in November.

Memphis was just too much today.
On tv today, Gillen was saying y'all have a really good recruiting class coming in.

Today you were outgunned but never quit. That you could see.

Yep....always a fun road trip. Had a blast back in January. Met many UAB fans and all were welcoming and very friendly.
Honestly, I'd be surprised if the series continued.

If I were Brian Mackin, I'd demand a home-and-home, and if I were Memphis, I'd tell him he's out of his mind.
Thanks for the kind words. I thought we played well enough to win for most of the game, and that's all you can ask of a team. The rest of it was on Memphis to screw it up, and they didn't.

I'd take a 2-for-1 just to get them back in Bartow and guarantee a sellout. Memphis is on that level. But we won't hear one way or the other until they figure out what conference they're in, which doesn't even have a name yet, much less a clue what their lineup will be.

I think they should come back to C-USA for a little while and wait for an invite from a conference that has it's spit together. I don't think UAB should accept an invite from the conference formerly known as the Big East at this point. At least we know we will have a conference next year.

Actually I take that back. Basketball out-of-conference stuff is pretty straightforward.

we're not far behind Tigger High. they have ~6 more tourney appearances in their history than we have ( 5 of those came before we owned a basketball)

What we don't have that Tigger High does is that Memphis cheats like the Bear but gets caught: They vacated tournament appearances for 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986 and 2008, for NCAA violations. This included Final Fours in 1985 and 2008 and the 2008 Finals appearance.

What they do have over is national exposure over the last decade because even though they cheated to get that stretch in the NCAA's they earned name recognition from it.

Don't ever for a second believe the B.S. they sell in Memphis. They've had the better program in CUSA 2.0 because Calipari was a better coach than Mike Davis but not enough to warrant a 2 for 1 deal.

Dracorex, you have a good evening, relax, and take a blood pressure pill or two.

To the really good Blazer fans that was a great effort yesterday by the Blazers.

Swing played like it was his last day on earth and gave everything he had.

With the great recruiting class you guys have coming in and a coach that's fully engaged, you guys should be back with the top group of programs in CUSA in the next couple of years.

Do me a favor, please......smash the 49ers for the next century or so.

how about a beer?

its just for burnerator sp? to claim we're on a 2 for 1 level with a team in our conference is just stupid.

You're asking me about a 2 for 1? I've never once mentioned 2 for 1.
One of our fans mentioned a 2 for 1, which is stupid, but didn't warrant the rant.
yes my apologies I should have just called him a dumb*** and not ranted

Better team? Id love to believe that too but seriously? I think we only beat one team with a winning record in our conference (UTEP). This win streak down the stretch was against the worst teams in an average league. Im as big a Blazer fan as anyone on here and have been for more years than i bet most on here but lets stop sugar-coating everything. I like this coach but folks we need to stop being excited about being average. Not really a young team either.
You're an idiot if you can't see they are playing better.

What are you babbling about?

No, I'm not satisfied with how this season went, and I bet Haase and the team aren't either.

But if you can't see how much they improved from the start of the season to now, you haven't been paying attention.
Given the way we were playing earlier in the season, I think we showed pretty significant improvement. UAB isn't used to .500 seasons or below, but I'm confident next year will be a different story. We knew how this season was likely to pan out given a new staff and, yes, limited talent (at least for the style that Haase wants to run).

With or without the defectors, I think next year and the coming years look very good for UAB basketball. This staff is already recruiting well without even much results (yet) to sell or back them up. I can easily see a Top 3 finish for UAB next year in CUSA, and very possibly an outright title.
