One of the greatest guitar players...
"Going home" for the last time...
Here's a more mature Alvin Lee video years following the memorable Woodstock performance
He changed MY world.
Saw him a couple times back in the day. Still remember his blistering finale at Goose Lake.
$15 for the 3 days at Goose Lake. Makes me want to go to the Tabard and have a few.

Tabard Inn was my first bar tending gig starting as an 18 yr old freshman.

Just enough staggering distance on the backside of campus from the two Benny's, the Tabard, and the Agora/Drafthouse.
Saw Lee a number of times with Ten Years After at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit in the late '60's. Great venue. Best rock bands ever for five bucks.
Time to throw on the Klipsch headphones and listen to " A Space in Time " ...

Was it ever. Saw some historic shows there. 04-rock I just wish that, at the time, I could have fully appreciated the significance of what I was experiencing. (Have you ever been experienced? LOL!)

With the Filmore East and the Filmore West, I guess you could consider the Grand to be the midwest version of those historic rock and blues venues...
Other classic Detroit locations I have been lucky enough to see shows - (Michigan Palace- Fleetwood Mac 1975) and (Harpos- Guess Who 1976) which may or may not have closed its doors... The Magic Bag in Ferndale may also still be open ... Can't even begin to count all the other classic shows at Cobo Hall and the old Olympia Auditorium...:band:
