Report: UConn, USF, Cincinnati could get pay day from Big East

The report was 1st referenced on the alignment board, but USF, UConn, and Cincy could get a pretty good payday all the while trying to leave the nBE. I don't know about deadlines but imagine the ill feelings if they accept an offer from another conference and leave with all of the money...

"The $100 million total is a combination of nearly 70 million dollars the Big East has and will collect in exit fee money from schools that have left or have announced they are leaving and another total of approximately $30 million which will come to the Big East offices from the NCAA as "unit" shares for conference teams participation in the NCAA men's basketball tournament."

"After payments and operating costs, Blaudschun estimated that each school could make between $18 million and $25 million once the settlement is reached."

Could you blame them if they stayed long enough to get the payout, then jumped? They'd be idiots not to.

Of course, the rest of the conference will hate their guts, but that won't cost them anything more than the exit fee they'd be paying anyhow.
