It's mostly an article about SLU, but if you scroll down a bit, you see where it says several sources have told the Washington Post of the teams above joining. What I'm thinking is where's Providence? Nothing official of course, but an interesting kink in the situation.

I am glad Dayton will get the nod. Good, loyal fans and a fun place to watch a bb game. Also, while somewhat one sided...I like the XU/UD rivalry. As a casual fan of both teams, it will be nice to keep them together.

UD has a great fan base, very loyal.
I think that is a pretty strong conference. It could make some noise.
The C7 is going to be a great league and a major force in MBB and other Olympic sports for a long time. So they'll be fine with whatever they do. But I can't believe Siena would get in ahead of Creighton and VCU.

I don't see them getting rid of Providence and putting two teams from Richmond in the Conference.
Wait. Siena? John Feinstein published an article last week that suggested Siena was a possibility and people on this board roasted the idea, which is the source of this article.
You know the board. Mentioned once and its just rumor. But if the same info bounces back in the echo chamber then its established fact.
Richmond, Siena, SLU, Butler, Xavier, Dayton.

Seriously , wheres Providence? Either. A) the writer forgot of their existence and one of the above isnt going to the C7(6) B) This is going to be a 13 team league C) Providence is going to the B1G next week.

Several well-placed sources told Washington Post columnist John Feinstein last week that the new league will be divided into Eastern and Western divisions, with SLU, Marquette, DePaul, Xavier, Dayton and Butler in the West and Georgetown, Villanova, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Richmond and Siena in the East.
He's using F-Bomb as his source. The list in this article is a quote from the Wash Post article. Repeat a rumor enough times and it becomes fact.
Or it's a terrible article written by an author who needs two tries to tell his ass from his elbow.

Did this guy really quote Feinstein?
Is it possible he just got Siena and Providence confused with each other?

That was exact same thought when I read it.

No, Burwell misquoted Feinstein.

... which makes it the perfect topic for a thread on this board that might reach 100 comments, right?

No. Siena was definitely mentioned by Feinstein as being in the mix. He just didn't get the details right.
This article is called poor journalism. Guy obviously didn't proofread his article and has no idea Providence is part of the BE7.

LOL! Ain't that the truth?

As for Burwell's story, he obviously just forgot about Providence. They're as much a part of the C7 as anyone involved.

Honestly, I'm still not sure that they're going to go to 12 teams out of the gate but if they do I cannot fathom why on Earth anyone is mentioning Siena or why they're not talking about Creighton?
