First time playing at the Stroh for all of these Broncos. BGSU doesn't seem to have a strong home court advantage there, but it's still gonna be a tough road game.

I'm sure everyone remembers the butt whooping BGSU gave us in Kalamazoo last year. That team shot 58% from the field on its way to a 24 point win. The worse part was that it was a 2 point game at the half. By my count, BGSU missed 6 shots the entire second half. I know we have a bunch of new players this year, but being reminded of how they embarrassed us should be priority #1.

BGSU lost a great deal of production after last season. They finished 5th in the MAC East, but were likely the 5th best team in the conference.

They are anchored by A'uston Calhoun with 15.7 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game. He's 6'7" and 235 pounds. I really like his game. He can bang a little inside and step outside and hit a jumper. His minutes and production have increased all 4 years he's been at BGSU. The good news is that he is turning the ball over at a higher rate, which is likely due to a lack of supporting cast. He's going to get the ball in the post and perform a turn around jumper multiple times. He can elevate over just about anyone who is guarding him. I really don't like Darius matching up against him.

Option #2 for BGSU is their 5'6" PG named Jordan Crawford. Before you get all excited because he's not very tall...just know that he dropped 8 assists on us last year while getting 16 points. In short, he's active and can get his shot off or pass if necessary. His assist rate has gone down this year, again, likely due to a lack of supporting cast. He's failed to score in double digits ONLY 4 times this year. In fact, he normally takes about 15 shots per game. Whoever guards him needs to be ready.

Here is my problem with BGSU. You look at their stats and find out that they don't score very, the don't rebound very well, they don't shoot very well, and they don't distribute very well. All 4 categories would be in the bottom 1/3 of DI. Yet they are somehow 4-6 in the MAC and boast wins over EMU, Kent, Ball St and NIU.

They beat Ball St by 11 in those highlights. Don't worry, you mind isn't playing tricks on you. Every play is replayed 2-3 times from different angles. So annoying...they make a 4 minute video into an 8 minute snooze fest.

I'm not sure what WMU team is gonna show up Wednesday night. If we play like we are capable of playing, this is a 20 point win. If we struggle to hit outside shots and commit 20 turnovers, it's a two possession game. BGSU doesn't have a supporting cast around Calhoun and Crawford to really make people pay. Check those two and make them EARN everything, and we should be just fine.

BGSU wins if they come out with emotion and we aren't mentally prepared to play hard for 40 minutes. We can match them as long as our heads are in it.

WMU responded well after the loss to Ohio at home. Can we start another winning streak on Wednesday night?

Here's guessing these guys are mad and refuse to lose.

WMU: 72
BGSU: 61
