I'm looking forward to the Creighton/Wichita game this weekend. CU has been playing phenomenal lately and Wichita.......has not. But, when these two get together you can be pretty sure it's going to be a battle. Two teams that can matchup physically with one another like few others in the MVC can. Two top programs that are almost guaranteed to be dancing in March barring a total collapse of their seasons.

Creighton comes in with a #12 ranking and Wichita is looking to make a statement and get back into the polls. Both really playing for pride. Creighton has a chance to take an early hold on the conference title by picking up a win over their biggest competition and getting a two game lead. Wichita is looking to tell the nation that they're not going to just go away and get back into a tie for first.

If I can find a ticket, I'll be there. But this will be a hell of a showdown on national TV.
McDermott has never scored more than 13 points against Wichita State. Carl Hall, who was key last year defending him, will likely get the assignment today along with Tekele Cotton (Who gives up inches, but has the vertical to still get a hand in his face ala Ben Smith last year) and probably Cleanthony Early.

This should be a battle, on National TV (ESPN2), with 2 coaches who are among the top 20 in the country.

Wish I was in Wichita for this one.
Shockers beat Creighton 67-64.

McDermott and Hall with HUGE games.
I expected McD to score more than 13, but wasn't expecting 25. It did take him 19 shots to get it though. Cotton did a VERY good job when on him. Hall showed why he's so important and how much he was missed the month he was out.

Wragge going 1-6 from deep surprised me. WSU shooting about as bad as possible also shocked me. It was a great game and I wish I'd been there. But the showdown in Omaha will be another great one and is bound to get picked up by ESPN
