About the only 3 points we have seen lately.
Also the play of the game in the arena as well as the call of the game by David were quite lame.

Shows how well the game went.
The cupboard was left pretty bare by Davis. We need players. We have some nice role players but this may be the least talented UAB basketball team I have seen. That said I love the guys and how hard they play. I think with the 5 new comers next season meshed with these guys we will be pretty good. Getting a true point guard and some quality bigs will help. Foz will be more productive playing the 4. Looking at who we signed and who we are recruiting as a whole recruiting has stepped up big time from the Mike Davis era. (Yes I am playing captain obvious with that one)

Speaking of Davis I didn't think it was possible for one guy to screw up two programs in the same calendar year but he accomplished it. I feel for Texas Southern.
Foz Wrote:I came mentally prepared to play...

Yes you did, sir. Had we seen the same mental effort from our frontcourt we would have won the game. Rucker played as hard as he could but couldn't help that Stephens has a 70 inch vertical.
And that he was playing against Thomas, Goodwin, and Black, all beasts on the inside.

This team needs size, shooters, and a real point guard. So I guess that means we need a pretty extensive makeover, lol.

I love the way Rucker plays. Foz is a very serviceable big man. I really like Swing's all around game, but he has been beyond struggling the past two games. Purifoy has incredible potential, and I haven't written him off yet. But over the course of his entire career at UAB thus far, I think he's underperformed. Williams is a good hustle player and glue guy. Besides those 5, our team is pretty damn bare.

Where the hell is Hoopy this year? I had high hopes for him

Our defense looked good last night, IMO. Why is our offensive tempo so slow? Please don't tell me I've been dooped by two coaches in a row who said they'd run an uptempo system..
We're a small team that has recently had problems from outside - something a small team needs. We are also a team w/o one-on-one players - players who are effective driving to the hoop. As a result teams can play us tight man-to-man because there is no fear that we will drive the ball to the hoop effectively. RR has plays in beast mode every game and Rob is our best slasher. Otherwise, we're pretty easy to defend - especially if we don't rebound.

Also, why didn't we post Swing - he was guarded by Jackson for most of the game giving up 6+ inches...
When you can't drive to the hoop and you can't hit from outside, the defense has it very easy.
