Do you guys think it will be a sell out?
Probably not but it will be as close as we get all year.
the only way we get a sell out beyond saturday is a round 3 game in the NIT...so hopefully it will sell out

Or we play Alabama in the first or second round of the NIT.
Good luck on continuing the series. Memphis can't figure out who is in charge of the schedule. The new AD has undermined Pastner twice on scheduling, negotiating games without informing the coach. They two are definitely not on the same page.
I'll be really surprised if the series continues.

If Memphis wanted to keep playing us at all, it would surely be as a buy game, and if I'm Mackin, I say "home-and-home or good luck in your new conference."
I don't see the series continuing with Memphis. They are moving on to greener pastures.
The article is interesting because it does mention the Catholic 7 deal. I understand if they have a 20 game conference schedule with all those teams wanting to take it a bit easy OOC, but if they are in a league comparable to UAB, I can actually see the series possibly continuing. I still think it's a long shot, but the odds have definitely improved with those 7 teams leaving.
Everything I have heard sounds like the series is over
I don't believe a one game a year series between the two would even gather enough interest to sustain the rivalry.

This is what we would probably be talking about - at best.
I disagree. I recall there being a healthy level of interest in games against Memphis even before it was a conference game.
I know MB will provide specifics to one way or the other, but the Cincy game drew more UAB people than Memphis.

While playing Memphis would still draw here, it wouldn't conversely draw the same interest at Memphis.

And playing here once every 2 years wouldn't draw the same kind of interest here as is does every year.
I see a lot of non-Memphis. ODU or Charlotte could become our 'it' game every year. Judging by some of the posts on CUSAbbs I'm betting we can have a heated rivalry with the 49ers.

A game against Auburn would draw people if the series was restarted.
It might not draw for the 1st home game, however if it were a yearly thing it would.

As you see, Louisville & Cincy were big draws as was Depaul when they were decent.

Depaul now wouldn't draw flies.

Back in the days, VCU & USA would draw.

Charlotte was a good draw as well.

Was the Alcorn State game the first game in The Bart?
No, that was Vandy.

The Alcorn game was a special promotion, free tickets, etc.

This...
If the series ends, will we finally release all those Memphis fans from the dungeon under Bartow?
We do have North Carolina coming in next year, so that will be huge.

The best thing that we can do is at least get back to the level that we were playing during the Anderson years or even the last few AJ years.
