Makes me think the main reason he took the UAB job was because he didn't currently have one. Nothing wrong with that, but nonetheless ...

It's a promotion... no hard feelings here and I wish him the best of luck.
It's also a better shot a a head coaching gig sooner than if he stayed. You have to thing he will have a good shot to take over when petrino leaves in a season or two
Promotion - yes.
More money - yes.
Closer to home - yes.

Not losing any sleep over it.
Coach Brohm is a great person and I wish him nothing but the best.
What "Dpickren" said: In the short time he was here, Coach Brohm made UAB's offense one of the most exciting to watch, it was definitely improved, and hopefully, the changes will be perpetual.

Is this the same offense that everyone griped about for half a season?
(insert Van Gorder's picture here)

No, not for OC, but as an example of someone jumping for "greener pastures" & it backfiring.
Not saying it will or won't happen in this case.
I am sure Brohm has weighed the pros & cons on the move & made the decision best for him & the fam.
Nothing is a given in coaching.

Then again, Van Gorder may have been getting the boot with the Falcons anyway.

I can say first hand that Van Gorder is a total prick and whatever he gets, he deserves.

I wish Brohm the best. We'll be ok.
I agree on both statements. Just felt like throwing out that example.
Any candidates to replace the lost coaches?
I mentioned in another thread that if there are any former Arkansas QB's who are coaching anywhere, then maybe they are candidates.

I would suspect that Bobby Petrino would hire Paul Petrino.

McGee may wait until after the bowls are over before getting another assistant coach that isn't going to be the OC.

I wouldn't be surprised either way if the OC position is filled by the end of the week or if it isn't.
This makes me happy.

What makes you happy and why?
Obvious brain lapses here.

Brohm is taking the position that Paul Petrino normally fills, so I must have missed Paul Petrino going somewhere else besides WKU.
Brohm is a professional football coach. He wants to advance his career.

If you were an AD looking for a hot young assistant to consider for a HC job, who looks better, Bobby Pertino's OC/QB coach or Garrick McGee's OC/QB coach? Yeah, it's like that.

Best of luck to him. McGee must be hiring good people, because other people want to hire them away. I think he'll do it again.
Isn't that the same school that doesn't have a conference soon or is that Idaho State?
Yeah, Idaho is playing the upcoming year as independent but that was before the the resurgence of the WAC. So, we'll see.
Is there any imperative for replacing Brohm at OC in early Jan.? Has anyone gotten any inside info on possible hires for UAB's open spots?
