I'm told that Greg McElroy will start at QB for Jets on Sunday #nyj
???????
Sanchez threw 4 picks and fumbled yesterday. I'd feel bad for the Jets, but I think it's funny.
Not sure why they didn't give Tebow more of a chance though.
Because he's a linebacker.
They hate Tebow. I honestly don't know why they have him to begin with. And when asked about, they say he's under contract and will be there on the bench again next season.

Tell that to Skip Bayless.
Who?
WHAT!!!!
One thing about Jets fans - you can count on them to be worse than Alabama fans when things go bad & never happy w/ the qbs. McElroy isn't much better even in his 1 game where they won he only produced 1 td & if AZ wasn't worse they'd have won that game as they had like 4 turnovers from the Jets & still didn't win only producing 2 FGs from them.
This isn't my wish, I'm a Patriots fan. I just said McElroy was the best QB on that roster.

Have you seen what Peyton Manning has done with that Denver team that everybody was praising Tebow for winning some games with last year? Tebow is a sorry NFL QB because he cannot throw the ball accurately. The league learns too quickly, and will exploit weaknesses. Remember how bad Denver was playing before that win against Pittsburgh? If he was worth a damn, he would be starting somewhere this year.
I know of several starters that aren't that good.

That doesn't keep them from starting though.

How can you know that Tebow wouldn't do better than Sanchez at NY unless you give him a legitimate chance?

Certainly he is nowhere near Manning in his ability, but he isn't at the bottom of the pack either, IMO.
I know several starters that aren't that good too. I also know several starters that aren't that good that don't have a legitimate option at backup as well.

Last year, when Tebow was so outstanding, he had a QBR of 29.9. The QBR actually takes into account his running ability. That is abysmal. For comparison sake, your boy Ponder had a QBR of 33.7 last year, and of 45.0 this year.(Tebow's is 17.6 in limited action this year) A completion % of under 50 in the NFL will not cut it. Again, if Tebow was that good, teams would have been blowing Denver away with offers when they announced he would be traded away.
Man, I feel for the Jets. This is all on the owner, IMO, not Rex Ryan. Tebow is a nice kid, but he's not an NFL QB, simple as that. McElroy (although I detest his college alma mater) should be next in line to take over for Sanchez, who has obviously lost his confidence this year. Ironic that McElroy is wearing #14, same number a former Jets QB from "The Land Of The Updykes" used to wear, and he was one of the Jets most productive quarterbacks in his day.
& if Tebow had Peterson to hand off to, people would be drooling all over him.

I suspect that a lot of teams didn't want the extra "baggage" that comes with Tebow.

FWIW, I don't consider the extra baggage a bad thing.

Sometimes QB's have that extra something that makes up for "SOME" things.
I agree. The owner and GM really screwed this situation up in New York. I hate Rex Ryan with a passion as a Patriots fan, but I respect him as a coach. Bringing Tebow in really created a circus atmosphere there.

He isn't any more accurate than Ponder, and still would have the same group of duds Ponder is throwing to. Nobody is drooling over Ponder this year for giving the ball to AP.

Tebow's extra baggage isn't his religion, it's the media attention that he brings with him anywhere he goes.

Tebow had exactly two games with a completion percentage over 50% last year. Two. He also went 6-22 against the Chiefs in the last regular season game(a big game bc nothing was settled yet, the Raiders losing got them in the playoffs) and had a QBR of 2.1 in that game. The week after that amazing game vs Pittsburgh(under 50% again, but a great QBR of 97.5 indicating he made plays when needed) he went 9-26 for 136 yards against the Patriots. These were 2 of the last 3 games he played in(and I could include Buffalo to make it 3 of the last 4), and he looked awful. That extra something didn't do him any good then.
The Jets can't switch to Tebow w/o switching offenses. Tebow just can not play anything but a read option style of offense and the Jet's offense is no where near that. Look at how bad the Jets do (usually) when they insert Tebow in for 3 or 4 plays.

Gmac is a better passer than Tebow, but so is my youngest daughter.
