First congrats on a SOLID addition. Was hoping you guys would let us keep UL ... at least for a few years!

Anyhow, rumor mill working its way around, some rumblings about GT getting an invite from the B1G. The poster who brought it to the attention to the BE board is not one for spreading rumors/false information. He's normally spot on.

If I find any thing on twitter/sports sites to back up his info, i'll send it over. Just wondering if you guys were hearing it at all, if so, what happens next? UConn/Cincy to ACC?

We will all be in different conferences in 10 years.

I doubt GT moves soon though.
money does talk but i doubt g.tech will leave if they can play FSU & Clemson every year along with Louisville & NC State . to be honest i think the B1G is holding out for the bigger fish like UNC or Texas
Screw that...we need to be the east coast Pac 12. Sign that GOR, hold tight at 14 and let the Big 12 be pulled apart
How do I not care about playing B1G ... let me count thy ways.

Big 12 has that GOR already. They also have the money from a very lucrative new deal with the SEC being played at the Sugar Bowl (aka Champions Bowl). Allegedly the money for a conference championship game for them is not lucrative enough to add schools without the existing 10 teams losing some rights fee to pay for the new members.

I get that, but why does that gotta happen right now? It's possible that expansion could hold tight until the playoff contract comes up. Having a couple spots open is valuable because you never know who will emerge as available/desirable. If 4 x 16 super conferences are going to happen then the Pac 12 will need teams from somewhere and I just can't see them settling for the UNLVs and New Mexicos of the world. They could just wait it out for now.
There is a lot of talk about this still. Anyone hearing anything? Seems to be a lot of talk from the VT boards about it.
but here it is fwiw:

Greg Swaim Show ‏@GSwaim
Word from calls today is that another current #ACC team will announce a move with 7-10 days to the #B1G. This would be a HUGE domino.
Actually, I think the WVU bloggers have a better track record than Swain.
Swaim has never been right.

On the other hand, there is a lot of chatter about GT and things progressing quickly though.

I think so too. 03-lmfao

So the word is that GT is in the B1G.

Anyone else heard more?

Everything I've seen comes directly back to the WVU bloggers......

Clarification - Not saying #GT report is done deal. Reported out of Midwest. Worth monitoring as we know the landscape is fluid & changing.

They are also the ones who usually start these rumors.

In other words, we have no idea. We misspoke and don't want ti admit that we are probably wrong.....

Sounds like they are trying to get a bunch of subscriptions.
