If Cincinnati or UConn leaves, does nBE take UAB? This is a horrible time to be stadiumless and presidentless.
I think UAB to the BE is almost a sure bet if SDSU and/or BSU back out.

"Almost a sure bet"?

First, money is driving this. Those schools will not leave money on the table. As bad as the new conference is, the money is better than the MWC. It's the same reason the basketball schools won't leave. Because the money in a bad big east football league is better than a new conference of basketball only schools, no matter how good the basketball is.

Second, The only way UAB gets chosen for anything is if there is some sort of conference merger involved.

That's the league UAB needs to be in but I don't think we will because of the leadership vacuum. We have a weak A.D., no president, and a BOT that does not wish Blazer athletics to succeed. Who is out there representing UAB's interests at the level that these issues are decided?
I wish we would get invited but us and USM will probably get left out.

Boise State and SDSU both announced last week that they're considering the move to the Mountain West. It was all over ESPN and CBS Sports.
TV deal isn't going to be what BE promised BSU and SDSU. They will very likely reconsider. They may still opt for BE, but it will be a hard decision. Money will probably be half (or worse) of what was promised to them by the BE.
So where are ECU's other sports going to go? Surely C-USA isn't going to allow them to park their dog sports here. Other than baseball, none of their non-football sports are worth two Finises.

I'll wager that our weak assed commish, Britt Banowsky, never even considered they should be forced to find a home for all their dog sports.

And don't call me Shirley. 01-lauramac2

With Louisville leaving it is expected ECU will be all in the BEast now.

The basketball only schools will love that. I've also heard ECU has been talking to the CAA about getting their other sports placed there.

Current agreements are for Navy to join in 2015. The Big East is still going to be looking for a 14th footballer, and it will likely be announced soon.
