Faz was absolutely awful last night (4 rebounds???). Was it just one bad game or a sign of things to come? Personally, I feel like we work at maximum productivity when he's not on the court.
I think he is our third best player out there. He was going against a taller team and struggled, much like Creighton. In fact, our new players, Jones, Alihodzic and Rucker have been a lot more impressive than some of our returning players: Swing, Taylor and Purifoy.
You have to look at the big picture. Most everyone on the team had a bad night except for TJ & Rucker.

He gets to the ball quite a bit & gets involved in plays.

Sometimes the shots look retarded, but as long as the effort is there he will be a positive.

He is having to carry a larger load being the only real big guy we have which may lead to some double teams by the opponents.

Get back with us after a few more games.

What he said.
He is also a big guy who is an excellent free throw shooter. That's going to huge dividends
I think you are reading too much into one game. What they said!
I think saying he was absolutely awful is a bit of a stretch. He didn't shoot well, but only Rucker did. He hit all 4 of his FTs, and he had 4 steals. Sure, there are things he can do better, but it's the 3rd d-1 game of the season. Everybody's still learning, and games like this are going to happen.
Stats can be deceiving. I thought he did well last nite. He was disruptive, seem I remember he had 3 or four steals. He's definitely an asset. We'd be in a world of hurt without him

How do you pronouce "Fahro"?

Is it
Fah-ro (as in Fa La La)
Fay-ro (as in Fay Wray)
Fare-O (as in fair play)
??

I say Fah-ro.

Is it Faz or Foz?

I thought he played fairly well. He made several steals, but should never lead a fast break.

I free associated there for a minute on the idea of a big man leading a fast break, and had a brief mental image of Kenneth Cooper pounding down the floor.

Lord, the earth would shake. 03-lol
Fahro Alihodzic is the greatest Bosnian since Hasan Pasha Tiro.

He will never be the Islamic Blake Griffin. But neither is he Bosnia's Beas. He is a very solid player and did a lot of good things last night despite shooting poorly.
The Islamic Blake Griffin. 03-lmfao

Spot on!
"Awful?" Hardly. He struggled early, just like everyone else did, but when he settled down, he contributed mightily, on the boards, in the paint (had a few timely blocks out there) and at the free throw line.

In addition, he's a crowd favorite, especially in the student section, most of us know how to pronounce his first name right, but the students say it as if it's pronounced, "Pharoah!" (& truth be told, so do I), & bow in acknowledgment of a solid play on his part during the game..."Fahro's Pharoah's!"

I like him, he and Rucker work their tails off out there. Isn't it kind of ironic that he's wearing the number that Todd O'Brien was going to play in last year?

Soldier On, "Pharoah!" UTD!
After forgetting about the game & only tuning in after halftime, I'd have to say that the team had an off game. If you look at Faz's body of work so far in the season, he will be a major piece of the puzzle this year. If it wasn't for Rucker, also seeming like another major piece, we might've lost the game. It's nice to know we have multiple players who can come through for us when those that we know from last year don't. The team is still in transition & learning a new way of doing things. The consistancy will come as they play more together & learn the player combos that work best together.

I hope this post isn't a sign of things to come, because its absolutely awful...no offense
Part of his poor shooting could be attributed to the fact that he was getting maimed by the other team. With his borderline out-of-control post moves, I don't think many refs are going to give him the benefit of the doubt.
He was also whistled for a BS intentional foul.

One of the officials was chastised by the other two. Anyone catch that in the second half? It was right in front of me.
I missed it. But I do remember seeing the PV ass't coach getting verbally undressed by their head coach. The head coach has just received his technical and the ass't stood up to get him to calm down, and the head coach went freaky pi$$ on the ass't.
