I am watching a replay of the game.
The guy shot 71 threes and took a 108 shots (made 52), Shot less than 50%. The more amazing thing is that someone on his team didn't deck him for shooting so much.

He's gonna freak out tomorrow when his mom asks him to pass the gravy.

Every year that team schedules a patsy to try and get someone the scoring record. The plan all along was to try and get him the record.
I watched the first half of the game and what they were playing can only very loosely be described as basketball.
Well, they did keep feeding him the ball.
They had one guy score 89 before.

The more amazing thing to me is that Faith Baptist had 49 turnovers! One player had 16, and another had 15. They also had a player shoot 34-44 (77%) and score 70.
I don't know what it was, but it wasn't basketball. He shot once every 20 seconds. The only way that happens is the other team is in on it.

Yep. Had to be. If the other team could hit layups they would have won by 30.

Grinnell is the team who won big. Doubt they'll add them anytime soon

On one hand, having played before, I would agree with what you said. But if you've ever played basketball before, you have borne witness to either a team mate or opponent that was "in the zone", when everything they do is magic, and every shot they take goes in, more times than not, that player is given the ball every trip down court and everyone else stays out of his/her way. I can't recall how many times I've been on the court during this occurrence in my playing days, but I do know that when someone is this damn "hot", you get the ****** the ball and let nature take its' course.
It was a setup game. The school they played had no business playing them & were paid off.
