I apologize if this is news that has been covered in the past few months. I have been living in Brooklyn, NY for the past 14 months so I have been out of the loop. But with all of the QB issues we have had, I began to wonder about the status of Ben Craft and whether we have redshirted him or if he just has not met HCGM's standards?
Craft and Greer will redshirt.

We have 4QBs we could play this year; Brown (R-Fr) Perry (Jr) Bento (Sr) and Mike Miller (walk-on R-Fr).
Thanks for the info! The only upside of the past 14 months has been missing the end of Callaway, the end of Davis and nine weeks of this very frustrating, albeit expected, football season. Glad to be back home and looking forward to great things for UAB!

Ben has been busy on the sidelines each game, however, helping signal in the offensive plays. Therefore, his redshirt year has been very productive as a learning experience, which should help his development in the future here at UAB.

He and Josh Greer both.
He got most of the reps running the scout team this year as well. Has to help in getting used to the speed of the game in college
Where did he end up after he left UAB?
I think he is playing baseball at Auburn. Not sure if he is eligible for this coming year, but I think he may be.
OK, thanks! I remember McGee really liked the way he help recruit for UAB in that 1st class.........guess it just didn't work out, but he seemed like a real good kid.
He had transferred to Northwest Florida State (buried in the following article): http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2013/...rs_to.html
Yes. He also is the nephew of one of our former players.
@thecraftyman: My dream is now a reality. Can't wait to play baseball for the Tigers

posted around August 7.
He is playing baseball for Auburn. He was not a "McGee type QB" so after that he refocused on baseball and the new coach at Auburn came and got him. He stays in touch with all the guys he was part of recruiting and is going to the Troy game to support them.
That is great to hear...........I heard he was a stand-up guy.
He damn sure stood up for UAB during the coaching change. I really appreciated him and his leadership. I wish him well at AU.

Which is what made his situation even sadder. But, what's done is done. I'm excited for his baseball career.
No doubt about him being a great guy......wish him all the best.
