For the past decade, programs such as Southern Mississippi, Tulane and Houston clung to major status by keeping company with Louisville, Cincinnati and Marquette, the way an overextended businessman might keep up appearances by hanging on to his country club membership.

Do you realize that they were talking about basketball only? Marquette does not have a football program. To dicuss Football and C-USA and not mention that USM has more C-USA rings than anyone is silly. Ne Southern Miss has not been good in Basketball in recent years ,but we still have atleast one Basketball Ring in C-USA. Southern Miss owns the sate of Mississippi in football an you no it.Thats why you always try to degrade us, but it does not work thats why we have 11 con. winning seasons and only 10 other teams in the country can say the same. I would not speak about clinging on to anyone if I were Miss State. You guys would be in the sunbelt Conference if it wasn't for Ole miss and alls rivilary not to mention the rest of the sec that cintinues to give money to ya'll when they go to bowls and ya'll stay home and watch.
