2012 Signing class

Only one verbal did not sign. Flipped one verbal DT DJ Reeder out of NC. Signed 20 for 21 slots available.
Both Pitt & Syracuse look pretty good...

Pitt: will you be thin on the OL? CB?

Syracuse: will you be thin at LB?

Geeze. Going by the depth tracker on your scout site y'all are hurting in the secondary.
UNC ESPN Commits

Not bad considering upcoming sanctions and coaching change. Still in the hunt for Davonte Neal. If Butch and boys had not got caught, Goodman is a Tar Heel today. Oh well.

Which means he will look like 42 by the time plays since Grobe redshirts just about everybody.

3 or 4 top 20... half in the top 40 (or 50, depending)... not bad.
Now gotta coach 'em up!
Unlike last year Clemson is likely to redshirt the majority of this class. We only have 11 seniors on the roster next season, so we aren't looking for a lot of immediate depth. The true freshmen we play will have earned it.

We were so close on cracking the top 50, too. 03-banghead

We closed out our class pretty strong this year, we better take that momentum onto the recruiting tail next season. Gotta put a lock on New York state. No more losing kids to Clemson, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Rutgers.

Agreed. UNC was well out of the top 50 until today.
NEXT STEP as a conference: If there are 14 teams in the ACC & SEC, 10 in Big12, 12 in Pac12 and B1G...
14 + 14 + 10 + 12 + 12 = 62 --> goal should be NEVER have ANY team outside of the top 60 nationally!

We have 7 LB's on the team now, plus there may be a DB who gets moved up.

Trenton Coles will be a CB and not WR. I think we'll be fine at CB. OL is certainly a concern. I think OL will be a focal point of next years Class. 4 Start Rippy will end up being a Safety.

Pitt also had to DB transfers from UM that will be available in 2012. I believe both will have 2 years of eligibility (maybe 3) if a redshirt was taken.

Pitt on OL may have some issues if they don't sign a high number of OL recruits for 2013. Should be OK this season, but next season may be a real challenge due to number of bodies.
