How are the New Hampshire and Rhode Island football programs? Are they ready/thinking about a possible move to FBS?
How would they fit in the MAC East with Buffalo, UMass, Temple?
I understand that there is some sort of New Hampshire rivalry with UMass. And Rhode Islamd, at least in basketball.
And UConn also had/will probably again have a rivalry with UMass and also plays Buffalo quite a bit. I think I saw on another board where a UConn fan described Buffalo as the "non-AQ we play the most" so a sort of rivalry?
How does New Hampshire fit into this?

NH is even further away from having the money / facilities than UMass was.

And there is no stat NFL team who will lend them the use of a stadium.
Rhode Island is going the other way. They will drop to the NEC in 2013 to save money
I think my high school is more likely to move up to FBS.

As for UNH, their campus is almost the exact distance to Gillette Stadium as UMass. And the are the
New England Patriots...

You cant lend one stadium to two teams, that would be logistical hell. Sure the conference controls who get's it when but what about OOC games?

As I understand it, UMass only has a few games at Gillette, probably the "high profile" OOC games.
Hell, it's the MAC. Scheduling is always a logistic hell. They could make it happen if they alternate Fri./Sat. games between the two. Or throw in a Thurs. night game. It's only 3 OOC games if they choose to play an FCS team (that game wouldn't be at Gillette). So 6 total OOC games played over 4 or 5 weeks at the beginning of the season is manageable. Plus they could play each other as a conference game during the middle of the season in Nov. on a weekday night for all the alums (both teams) in the Boston area.
I think it's doable.

Nope UMass will be playing all of their games, for some years, at Gilette. I beleive the contract calls for no less than 5 per years.
Like I said you could manage the MAC portion of the schedule but when you secure a home and home with Big10, ACC, or Big East teams usually they are going to want a Saturday date. and you cant control their schedule.
There is also the turf to worry about. Running 2 teams on one turf wears it out, three would really beat the hell out of it. Even if contractually Nova could get a crack at the Linc there is no way the eagles would take that third team.
If UNH had a stadium they would be like 5th on my wish list.
I'd rather have the following schools..
Army
Delaware
Stony Brook
JMU
ODU / UNH
