The more I watch our players, the more I think that many of them should come home to the US and play. Most of our starting 11 that play overseas don't get crap for playing time. Is it better for them to ride the pine in Europe or play 90 in MLS?

I realize that some of them get substantial playing time so don't start throwing out exceptions....just asking a question.
If you are a player it comes down to money, not playing time. Would you rather make 400k to ride the pine in Europe or 40k to play 90 min in MLS?

I do understand that dynamic, but then if we could keep better players here, could we then begin to increase player salaries, if we could increase the leagues exposure?
can't make them stay though. I know Davies went to Sweden for more money than he would have gotten when drafted.
Of our starting 11 from the Mexico game, the following play in Europe:

Tim Howard----regular starter at Everton
Carlos Bocanegra----regular starter at St Etienne
Clarence Goodson----regular starter at Brondby and at IK Start before that.
Steve Cherundolo----regular starter and captain of Hannover
Eric Lichaj----regular playing time early until Villa brought in Kyle Walker on loan in the midseason transfer window then was a regular starter for Leeds on loan.
Michael Bradley---regular starter at B. Mochengladbach until he moved to Villa in the midseason transfer window.
Jermaine Jones---regular starter once he moved to Blackburn
Freddy Adu---well, yea.
Clint Dempsey----regular starter at Fulham
Alejandro Bedoya----regular starter at Orebro

Of the other players on the roster
Jonathan Spector----Almost always in the 18 and got plenty of playing time at West Ham
Jonathan Bornstein---bench warmer at Tigres
Marcus Hahnemann---was the regular starter at Wolves until it became clear that he wasnt re-signing
Gooch----started half the games he was on the roster at FC Twente.
Maurice Edu----regular starter at Rangers
Sasha Kljestan----starts about half the games for Anderlecht and usually a sub in games he doesnt start.
Jozy Altidore----yea, thats an issue.

So of our European based roster only Jozy and Adu don't get regular playing time.

OK, so maybe I should have said...Don't be on Villa or be Jozy or Adu. I'll shut up now, but I would love for them to stay in the US.
I think that Adu should come back to MLS and get some regular PT...it would be good for MLS and for him

He should go to AZ Alkmaar with Jozy. The Dutch league would be good for both of them.
