we get 3 bids plus a playoff spot, I think that is pretty good for our area to begin with.

We cannot complain about the three bids to be sure,

2 out of 3 making it through with one being a first place proves that concacaf deserves the bids

is it single elimination for the US from here on out? How do they determine the winner in the event of a draw?

It is now single elimination. Loser goes home.

USMNT is now in the "knockout stage" of the WC. From here on our, there are no draws. Teams will play 30 minutes of extra time (no sudden death), divided into 15 minute "halves." If there is no winner after that 30 minutes, the winner is decided by kicks from the mark.

Or, as Wolo refered to it this morning, "the medal round."

World Cup bids are dished out based on continents. Better Footballing continents(Europe) get more bids while ****** continents get less(CONCACAF, Oceania) Below are the splits for how the get into the WC.

UEFA(Europe)=13
COMEBOL(S.America)=4
CAF(Africa)=5
AFC(Asia)=4
CONCACAF(N.America)=3

The Host(South Africa) get automatic berth into the WC

The last two spots were determined by Intercontinental Playoffs.

4th Place Concacaf(Costa Rica) vs 5th Place COMEBOL(Uruguay)

1st Place Oceania (N. Zealand) vs 5th Place AFC(Bahrain)
