Alright guys, how many are we beating you by this time? I've been raising the money to get Tony Ingle and the entire family/team a big Uhaul for their trip to Spankytown after ETSU gets through with them. 04-cheers
Haha - love the thread...You guys have the advantage on us this year that is for sure. I think we will be more competitive than in year's past because we have some guards that can handle it and score...if we can get some of our big men healthy it should be a good game. I am hoping for a split, as I think ETSU has a very good team this year on paper.
You guys must be suffering from a little apathy right now. You'll have that.
I am as excited as ever about our team, I am just not one of those guys that is going to tell you that we are national champions yet. The future of our program will be at the top of the ASun, but we aren't there yet. We are taking steps in the right direction. This year we would have been much better, but we are redshirting 2 6'10" forwards and our 6'8" Texas Tech transfer is injured as well as our top recruit a 6'7" who can play SG-PF in the ASun. So our front line is hurting...we have a lot of young talented guards, but as you know freshman take time to develop. Without a secure front-court rotation, we are relying on those young guards, and that means we are going to be very inconsistent. Our future is bright, our immediate team is going to have to battle for every win. We are a better team than last year though in my opinion, especially if we are able to get Mitchell (Texas Tech transfer) healthy and on the court.

The kennesaw kids have tamed down their rhetoric for several months now. They've been put in check with the reality that they aren't going to magically rise to the top over night. As long as they continue to live in reality....I see no reason to incite them.
Oh but it was fun to get them going, Gold. It reminds me that I'm thankful that we have a winning record against the mighty Owls....
We can beat Belmont!

Goldfinger

Judgment day is coming for Belmont.
I guess everyone is doubting us cuz we lost to the number 4 team in the country by 14....we will see. I will be honest I think we have a better team than last year but it will interesting to see how it pans out...we are only 3 games in

Goldfinger

I didn't think you were that hot last year, ETSU just doesn't play basketball anymore
That's what makes this even more fun Gold, we're at the lowest point ETSU has EVER been in, yet we're still better than the majority of the league, and certainly the sespool known as KSU.
BTW Hoos, love the "Be a Bruin" sign at the Wedgewood exit, is it helping?
i guess it is, we swatted tennessee state tonight by 30
I think a win over Trevecca might hold more weight. How many people were in the stands tonight, "being a bruin?" Be honest, and don't count the pep band.
Bruin fans in the stands, I'd guess about 100.

Wins and losses at this point in the season don't count for much. However, please note that one of our losses came against the #4 team in the country and only by 14 points (really not indicative of the game we played). And don't forget our trip to Knoxville on Dec. 20. Once conference play starts, we'll be able to see how the conference shakes out. Needless to say that teams like Belmont and Mercer that play strong out of conference schedules will have the upper hand going into conference play.

It'll be another great year for Belmont, win or lose the tournament (but preferably win!).
I actually think it holds more weight than a win over Wingate
KSU is the sole #1 in the conference.

Goldfinger

Yes, you defeated mighty upstate....congratulations
100 fans. Seriously. A team that has been to the NCAA's the past 2 years, and you have 100 fans. You should be firing your marketing people.
100 people total? Are you FREAKING KIDDING ME? That's not embarrassing, that's sad. There is something really wrong there that Belmont isn't getting more than that to games.
And KSU, enjoy it, it'll last about as long as a promnight hookup.

The 100 people were at an away game...the only two home games...the student section has been packed
