We received our first verbal from Chicago Mount Carmel QB/athlete Jordan Lynch.

http://edgytim.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=818307

NIU was his first offer, which he earned after his performance at the Huskie camp. Not too bad of a start even though he had no other offers, as he seems like a pretty good prospect size-wise (6'2", 205) and can maybe be moved to play safety or WR if QB doesn't work out for him...keeping a pipeline going from Chicago and the Caravan is never a bad thing either.
Excellent!
Being recruited as an ATH makes me think that QB is not going to be his home. A lot of QB talent in the state this year and you have to think Hill is Kill's #1 QB.

He seems like a big guy, WR, S, OLB could all be a position for him.
Wow, got our first verbal eight months before signing day. Hopefully this starts a chain reaction of others to follow.
Here are his numbers for his junior season:

Quote:QB -- Jordan Lynch, Mt. Carmel, Jr.

* 69-of-135, 1,120 yards, 15 TDs, 3 INTs; 94 carries, 486 rushing yards, 9 TDs.
Half of this article talks about the kind of player Lynch is on the field.

Congrats Dawgs!04-bow
With High School players having the ability to send tape to multiple schools and also attend numerous one day camps, why does he only have one offer? Is it that he comes from such a strong program that other schools question whether he has a lot of talent or that there are so many talented players around him that makes him look better than he is. Seems like he has size and speed.

Didn't he only go to 3 other camps? I assume the Big 11 schools were waiting on him to see if they could hand him an offer. We have an advantage of taking a chance on these kids because we are a smaller school with a ton of scholarships to hand out.

Wow that's a pretty negative sarcastic comment. It's early in the recruiting season. He's barely camped and decided to verbal to the first team that offered him. What's wrong with that? Of course he's more of an option QB which limits him a little bit, but he's fine with us recruiting him as an athlete.

Did you even read the article that epasnoopy posted?

So you measure talent and best fit by the number of offers you have?

Yes I did read the article. Also "the two best QB's in the Chicago area" is a bit of hyperbole I am sure.

It is a big red flag when not one other program makes a "top" player an offer. Jumping at the first (maybe only) offer immediately also is a red flag.

He may turn out to be great - however from my experience a girl that absolutely no one wants to ask to the dance is seldom pretty.

BUT, you want to go to the dance with this girl or you wouldn't have asked...So she works for you, go with it.

Based on what I can find, no. WMU is listed as his only offer.

Kid said schools wanted to wait to see his senior film or already had other kids at the position in front of him on their recruiting board but WMU offered and he jumped on it.
my info says he is a very good athlete who will probably not play QB at our level.
