Nick M is always the one to start these things, but I wanted to go ahead and get the party started. Big game against Lipscomb today. A sweep vs. the Nashville twins would go a long ways towards getting our season back on track. A couple of thoughts on the game.

1. They are going to be all over Ronell this game trying to get him out of rhythm. Everyone in this league knows what a hot Wooten can do to a scoreboard.

2. Need consistent play from our post today. Lipscomb has killed us in the paint in the past. Last year they murdered our big men...it is time for some payback

3. As always, we will need consistent play from our PG. They play very physical defense on the perimeter. McConnel, Stegall, Pollock...whoever is handling the ball better make sure they are in control, and dictating the tempo or Lipscomb will force some turnovers.

Hopefully we have a good showing from the fans. After last game the students should be back in action.
this was mentioned in the Belmont thread, but its critical. With a win tonight the Owls can go to 3-4 in the conference with a chance to be .500 after Upstate. If we can be .500 8 games into the conference slate it would far exceed my expectations. And not to mention, I understand whats done is done, but we were one buzzer beater away from being 3-3 right now (mercer). Lipscomb is coming off a close loss @ mercer on thursday, maybe they'll be reeling. The Owls are coming off a huge win so maybe Big Mo will begin the game on the side of the Owls. The Bisons version of Ronnell Wooten is their guard, Eddie Ard. I remember Ard from previous seasons, he's a player. I made the comparison to Ronnell, and the stats back it up with some unusual irony. Ard is the leading scorer from Lipscomb and 5th overall in the conference averaging 16.8 PPG. The irony of it all is that Wooten is the leading scorer for the owls ranked 6th overall in the conference at 16.7 PPG. I think it will be a good game, and coming off a tough loss, the way the Bisons start the game will be critical. If the Owls start off on a tear like they did on thursday, and as KB pointed out, not slack on the defensive end (like the 2nd half against belmont) we should be 3-4 in the conference next time the owls hit the floor for the non-conference game on tueday. score? i dont know, however i think it will be close, Owls by 10 or less.
Awesome win. Wooten played great and McConnell came up huge with his FT's.. Lets keep it up..
Didnt see much of the game online. I am going to watch it tomorrow. Looks like we had a balanced attack. From what I saw early on we had the better team. Sweeping the Nashville teams in our only two games vs. them this season is huge for us and for the respect of the southern division. Great job Owls. Let's keep the momentum going against USC-Upstate. Maybe this team is starting to figure out how to play some really solid basketball.
Anyone at the game? I'm glad we won. I wasnt there, but i was wondering if our teamwork and passing was looking good. I know against Belmont, we were passing the ball well.
Only 11 assists, and 24 turnovers on the game. Doesn't look like a very good passing attack 03-wink Tanner also looks like he had a pretty poor game according the boxscore (0 points 1 rebound in 16 minutes), but the boxscore doesn't always mean much...I will watch later today.
