It has to start someplace, so I will be the one to lead the mass of public opinion in this direction.

As Kennessaw and North Florida can't seem to compete in Division I, I think it would be best for college basketball in general, and the ASun in particular, to ask these two schools to leave the conference.

It must be quite embarrassing to be an administrator at an ASun school, knowing anybody - I mean ANYBODY - can be accepted into membership.
I thought this thread was going to blow up....
Eh, I missed it. Not much action round here by those etsu folk. Most of them staying at home on their boards thank goodness. KSU's obviously not doing well. The record proves it. Probation has finally reared its ugly head. We're still recruiting fine. Players and staff like the situation and opportunity they have before them. It comes as a surprise that we're down so far on this years record. We'll rebound. R-E-B-O-U-N-D REBOUND!

Let me point out that it's not a one sport conference. The sport we fast-tracked already has a conference title.
Oh, it's not a 1 sport conference? I didn't realize it was an "any sport" conference!
Yo mama so fat she goes to the movies and sits next to everyone!

And yea, we'll keep UNF for the beach, and so JU has a local kid to beat up on anytime they feel down.
Don't you be talking about my mama.

Yes, NF is good for JU.

So it's agreed. Kennesaw is out.

Glad that's settled.

Goldfinger

This may surprise you but I see no reason to kick a man (or school) when they're down. I only attack Kennesaw when they make outrageous statements. Knowing full well what it is like to have struggling years, I see no reason in rubbing their noses in it.
OK tell them to pack their things. But where will they go?

Maybe we should have a season where the bottom team is removed from the conference. That would be fun!

Goldfinger

But I will make one disagreement with Nick....It is a one sport conference.
Gold -- no reason to hide from the truth. It's just basketball!
Yo Momma is so smelly that farmers use her bathwater as liquid fertilizer.
Ill come here and take my medicine. I thought Kennesaw would be having a much better season this year. I don't think our future is any diminished based on our recruiting success (this has been by far our most succesful recruiting year ever) but it is dissapointing that we can't seem to put together some wins. The season still isn't over, and we have finished .500 the two previous years, so don't put a fork in us yet.

But unless we are able to really turn it around, this is turning out to be a rough season for us. As someone else mentioned, our other sports have faired well. Our women's basketball team is much improved this year, our soccer team is dominant, and our baseball and softball team are up there with the best in the league. However, men's basketball is the flagship of every university that doesn't have football, so all that amounts to a hill of beans during a bad men's basketball year.

Please don't lump us in with North Florida again. It is a bad misjudgement on your part. The effects of our grace period (and the recruiting effects of those first 2 years) have caught up with us this year. We will be back soon, and hopefully will be able to turn this season around even sooner.
We did beat UNF by 21... I know that doesn't show anything.
Give the mighty Owls credit, they did beat Belmont for us, but other than that, they've been the terd in the punchbowl known as the Atlantic Sun. Poor KSU... So delusional, so bad...
I guess we just needed a little trash talkin to get our guys going.
Two wins in a row for the Owls. Big game vs. Upstate on the horizon to get to .500 in conference before having to face the dreaded ETSU road game. We should have a good chance of winning at Upstate, although I bet they come ready to defeat their old A-Sun opponent - but if we somehow manage to beat Upstate and come in .500 to Johnson City it should be a fun match.

Hopefully that is the case.
Drove past Johnson City today coming back from a ski trip. Didn't stop.

I said it before, we could lose all of our games but ETSU and I'd be happy. Thankfully the Owls decided to win a few conference games and not test my aforementioned comment. Should be a fun game. Too bad it's on Super Sunday.
Kev- I don't agree. UNF and KSU give the conference large markets. KSU's administration seems to have vision, UNF is a historical baseball power.

I can see these programs growing.
Thanks for the rare compliment from a Buc Fan. :)
For once, Pitt and I disagree. Large markets, nothing. Nobody knows they exist in their markets.

Mercer and I will lead this charge.

So they beat Belmont. Big patooey. So did Campbell (Sagrain rank: 280) and Austin Peay (Sagarin rank: 179) ... twice.

Hmmm. I wonder how Drake did this weekend . . .
