Saw the game last night. Saw that bill took a shot to the knee. Any news on the extent of the injury? Can't find anything on the internet...

Thanks! :domokun:

Scroll down to "Wait and See". It's really a non-update as Huggs doesn't really have an answer yet.

Sorry I cannot give you more.
We will know by tomorrow night

Honestly, for this season it s*cks, BUT.... this possibly means that Bill will have to play at least 2 years to prove himself to NBA scouts, so in a way, it could work out OK..

I had the same injury as bill (same knee) and recovered in less than a year (and my athletic days are way behind me). I had a patellar tendon transplant--I think for Bill they may go with a cadaver tendon. Bill should heal much more quickly. Also, keep in mind that Garrison Hearst played an entire year in the NFL without an ACL--he had so many accessory muscles that the effects of his ACL rupture were negligible, so Bill may be back quicker than you realize.

The most important thing is for him to keep up with his PT and he'll be fine.. ;-)

Hes gonna be back next year, because he has to by rule. We'll be fine. 13-6 right now with a top 50 rpi.
Ziggy,

Contrary to the rumors, Walker did not play last night, and I doubt if he plays any more this season. He has made comments about wanting to get back in time for the NCAA Tourney but I think that is just hopeful wishing. His injury and surgery were way too severe for him to be able to recuperate that rapidly, and besides, I doubt if Huggins would allow him to risk further injury or problems by attempting to come back this year even if Walker wanted to. At this point Bill just needs to go with the rehabilitation plan and get well for next season...

Both the K-State Scout site and ksufans.com (the MUCH better forum!) had Walker quoted as wanting and planning to come back by the NCAA Tourney. And yesterday a couple sites (including the Cinci ncaabbs.com) mentioned that Walker played and scored a couple points. He didn't, though. Mistaken identity I guess...
In my opinion, I say he just sits the rest of this year. Other than our loss to KU, we have played pretty good ball. Bringing him back too early and reinjuring that same knee would be really bad. So I say let the current set up work out the rest of the season. Plus I am sure his energy is helping out also.
