Talk in Miami has started that if the Gators lose two more games this season, that you guys are going to want Zook canned. What do you guys feel about that? Is it fair to run him after one season with a team that isn't his?
Gator fans be banging their heads in frustration for the next few seasons . Zook has his work cut out for him in the recruiting department.
First of all Hornsounder, I find it hard to believe that it is the talk of the town down there in Miami. Arent the nolies coming to town??? Even if Zook loses a couple more games we will still stand behind him. He has a lot of work to do but that goes for the rest of the coaching staff and players. It's a team effort and everyone needs to adjust to the new system. Hopefully that will happen!
HOrnsounder...believe it or not, some were wanting his head after the UM loss which was crazy..it's not fair, but thats life in big time College Football!! I hope he gets a couple years to recruit and get the systems down...thats would be fair!!
when you have big shoes to fill, it takes a lot of luck to keep them from falling off. give zook time and i believe you won't be disappointed.he's a good coach and after he loosens up and gets a couple of recruiting years, you will be back on top.i don't think uf's a.d. would have approved zook if he did'nt think he could handle the job.to much money and prestige at stake.

We will find out soon enough what Zook's UF fate is. I foresee them dropping two more games before the regular season is over. Georgia and FSU (and maybe a bowl opponent) have been waiting for this season's matchup. I wish Zook nothing but the best either way.
Spurrier left the Gators high and dry. The Gators will still be a top 20 team, but dont expect to see them in the BCS series in the next couple seasons. Zook has his work cut out for him.
High and dry? The reason he even announced his departure when he did was to give Jeremy Foley the time to find a new coach (and maybe taking away the spotlight from miami ). There is lots of talent on this team. He is the reason expectations are so high. He did nothing but good things for the University so I find it hard to believe you would think that.

I imagine it's hard to have to live us to the legacy and success of Spurrier's Florida teams.
Guys,
I hope there are more patient Gator fans like you out there because I heard that the crowd got a little ugly on Saturday. I found a website called fireronzook.com. The poor guy must be yanking his hair out.
When any coach leaves, especially when the program has been successful, 99% of the time there is a "drop-off". Lots of teams are suffering this year and they just are not use to it. Nebraska, Florida, and several others are just not used to being treated like the "punks" in the neighborhood.

Penn State has fairly righted its ship. Notre Dame has too, "because" of a coaching change and in the 1st. year - unusual!! 04-bow 04-bow

There have been some strange games this year. FSU lost to Louisville and except for a bad snap - would have beaten Miami. Everybody had thought that Miami was "unbeatable" this year.

Hold your head up Florida. Some of your fans certainly remember football prior to Spurrier. You will see sunny skies again...........for all those of you that are spoiled by the past 10 years.....see how some of the other programs have felt. There will be more teams that will wonder why their coach is doing such a poor job. They will wonder how they let certain players slip away - wondering why they aren't ALL flocking to their school. Get used to it. The playing field seems to get a little more level every year. Just ask Iowa State.

REBStill,
I invite you to look at the image below, and tell me what is wrong with that hold. At first I also thought that the ball was askance when it was kicked, but after further review, the kicker is to blame!

Reality is , Spurrier was a great college coach, one of the best, he is , in the short term irreplaceable, perhaps Zook can get the Gators back to averaging 10 wins a year, so far he has done a poor job, his new philosophies and strageties are not working well and are not being executed well by the players, If Spurrier was there the Gators would be 5-2 for sure probably 6-1. I think next year is his do or die season, a friend of mine who lives near gainsville seems to think he can bring them back next season and looking at the schedule the Gators could still finish with 8 wins.
I think the Gator fans should give Zook a chance to get his system established, which will take a couple of years. The recruiting and players will continue to be strong at Florida.... they have too good of a program there not to continue getting premeir players. But, if they decide to "can" Coach Zook, I know where they can get a coach with about 3
